Historic New England

Semetric Media has partnered with Dynamic Diagrams (Providence, R.I.) to deliver a new web publishing solution for Historic New England, the largest regional historical society in the United States.

Historic New England's Centennial site is the first in a series of web development projects for HIstoric New England. This first site celebrates the 100th anniversary of Historic New England with a focus on the stories, people and projects which tie contemporary residents of New England to the most recent 100 years of history.

The technology used to develop this solution is built around open source tool -- Linux, Python, Zope and Plone. Building on the secure, standards compliant foundation of Plone, a leading web content management system, Historic New England moves into their second century of service with the ability to deeply engage with web site visitors, grow greater awareness for the organization's efforts and better server its mission to promote the preservation and cultivation of New England's rich historical heritage.
